Galaxy on Fire 2™ HD+SD FOR IOS DEVICES

THE MOST AMAZING GAME I HAVE EVER PLAYED ON IPHONE.
For the life of me, I can't quite figure out why all of the morons on here are writing bad reviews saying that this game is boring or the graphics aren't that good. What a joke!

This is by far the best GoF experience to date! The game is anything but boring, there's countless hours of gameplay here, and it's always action packed. Even if you only follow the story missions, you've got at least a good 6 hours of gameplay, but if you decide to go out on your own and explore and take on side jobs or mine or trade, there's TONS of gameplay to be had. And trust me, it's worth poking around outside of the story missions, there's a few hidden systems to discover, as well as many craftable items in the form of blueprints to find. It's a big galaxy, and it really is a fantastic Easter egg hunt.

Get Lock Screen Weather Updates Without Jailbreaking

Although one could simply look outside or ask Siri about the weather, some people like to receive their forecast from the lock screen of their iOS device. Until recently, this was only possible by jailbreaking your iOS device and subsequently installing a lock screen tweak that displays the weather; however, there is now an easier way that doesn’t require jailbreaking.

Apple has recently approved an app bluntly named “Lock Screen Weather” that shows a dynamic weather forecast on an iOS device’s lock screen in a way one probably wouldn’t have imagined. The app works by playing a “silent” song through the default iPod app for iOS; as a result, album art is displayed on the device’s lock screen, which gets updated with local forecast information according to one’s whereabouts.

Considering how strict Apple is with their App Store guidelines, it’s somewhat surprising that the Cupertino-based company approved this app. The Lock Screen Weather app is available in the App Store for 99 cents. Hopefully the app’s newfound publicity doesn’t result in Apple yanking it from the App Store.

Infinity Blade II Released FOR IOS

The sequel to iOS’s most stunning game has been released on the New Zealand App Store. Infinity Blade II features a dynamically changing world, in-depth character customization, and full support for iCloud and HDMI out. The original received rave reviews and too many five star ratings to count (well, 20030 to be exact), and the initial buzz for the next game in the saga is also very positive. Infinity Blade II runs on the iPad, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4 and iPod Touch 3/4G, but you’ll need an iPad 2 or iPhone 4S in order to take advantage of the A5-optimized graphics, which rival many console games.

The God King has been defeated, an unlikely hero has emerged and now you must discover the truth behind the secrets of the Infinity Blade. The continuing journey of young Siris unfolds as you delve deeper into the world of the Deathless tyrants and their legion of Titans. Can you unlock all the mysteries and successfully wield the power of the Infinity Blade in this timeless adventure of champions and villains?

The game officially launches on December 1st, so American users will have to stay put until later today

Extraction: Project Outbreak IOS GAME REVIEW

If you were part of an experienced team making your first iOS title quickly and on a tight budget, the result might well look a little like Extraction: Project Outbreak. ShortRound’s Cannon Fodder-inspired zombie shooter is confidently constructed around an original, and extremely promising, single-finger control scheme. When the game struggles, it tends to be with content rather than concept.

It’s ingeniously streamlined stuff. Regular taps of the finger direct your tiny commando through the game’s cluttered top-down levels, while a swipe targets enemies, allowing your character to automatically open fire if they’re within range. Chaining kills together will reward you with a points and XP boost, and as different foes are steadily dropped into the battlefield – the fast, weak one, the lumbering, well-armoured fatty, the one that returns fire – you have to be a little tactical in the order in which you link them, taking out the most immediate threats first.

With a range of standard weapons, specials like turrets or waddling little gun-droids, and neat systems for grenades and melee, Extraction makes a great early impression: a shooter with a racing line slung between targets. The problems start to show, however, as later levels send you back into the same handful of maps to grind through a small selection of ever-repeating mission types, most of which revolve around escorts.

Toggle Settings from Your Homescreen Without a Jailbreak

Drilling through a series of menus and options just to change a single setting on iOS can waste valuable seconds that can be better spent playing Infinity Blade, so UI designer Jeff Broderick has created a webapp appropriately called “Settings” that allows you to create homescreen shortcuts for commonly used toggles. Available at his website, Settings has shortcuts for enabling WiFi, Bluetooth, Airplane mode, and much more. It ‘cheats’ by using configuration profiles to redirect from mobile Safari to the requested preference pane, allowing it to work without a jailbreak. The ability to quickly toggle settings (a la SBSettings) is one of the big draws of jailbreaking your device, but Settings works just as well without the hassle.

Application Review: Shadowgun

Thrilling, console quality graphics. A well known, overdone, yet compelling, story line. Action-packed gameplay. Madfinger Games has been well praised in the iOS gaming industry thus far. They may not be a big giant like Gameloft and EA, but they do have their fair share of games that are well known and loved. Even I myself have fallen in love with games like Samurai, Bloody Xmas, and Samurai II: Vengeance
Gameplay

The storyline behind Shadowgun is one that is all too familiar. You play as John Slade who is on the mission to find and retrieve the nasty, diabolical Dr. Edgar Simon… Dead or alive. We’ve seen this storyline way too many times as many games use this story line, one example being another game with shadow in its title, Gameloft’s Shadow Guardian.

Just like they can take cover, Madfinger gives you a cover system of your own. This cover system is intuitively placed into the game in the most hidden fashion. It involves no buttons; making it as simple as it gets. To take cover, walk up to a barrier or wall and John will do the rest. You can move forward to jump over some barriers or just step back to retreat from cover. The cover system in this game is one of the best I’ve ever seen.

 Graphics

Like the gameplay, the graphics are also phenomenal. In this day and age, everything it’s Unreal Engine this, Unreal Engine 3.0 that. Then Unity’s engine, which has the ability to create really compelling graphics is left behind. Unity really never became big, and doesn’t get the respect it deserved. Well, today it does, through the hands of Madfinger Games.

The graphics in Shadowgun are nothing less of jaw dropping. The advanced, real-time lighting, deeply detailed textures, and picture as a whole really just come together to create a beautiful picture out of just about every screenshot. Words really can’t explain just how thorough and gorgeous the graphics are in this game. In an essence, it starts walking the line of the console gaming, where it becomes so overwhelming, it feels unreal. The animations are really fluid and smooth as a baby’s bottom. The frame rates run high. Everything really just looks splendid.

Audio

With great gameplay, great graphics, Shadowgun comes to the table with some great audio. This completes the three necessary components to create a great game. When you have all three of these aspects together, the game really just comes to live. This game is no different.

The sound effects in this game are plenty in number. Put on your headphones and you’ll hear every single sound you can imagine, even ones that you wouldn’t in real life. The SFX really give a mysterious feeling to the game as any step you take can lead you into battle. The gun fire, footsteps, explosions, doors, and everything else imaginable has a sound

Final Thoughts

With an amazing jump into the 3D shooting world, Madfinger actually pushes out a high-quality game that will for sure satisfy the end user; if only it wasn’t for the constant crashing. The gameplay, graphics, and audio all work together in perfect unity to deliver an engaging gameplay that will bring players back. The soon-to-come multiplayer modes should really fix most of the replay value problems. Madfinger Games really brought a huge punch to make Shadowgun one of the best, if not the best, third person shooter on the App Store… If only it wasn’t for one thing.
