iLounge has cited their reliable sources for what they expect to be Apple’s product roadmap for 2012. If the rumors are legitimate, the so-called “iPad 3″ will be previewed in January of next year and launched in March. The third-generation iPad will be slightly thicker than its predecessor at 9.5mm; comparatively, the iPad 2 has a thickness of merely 8.8mm.
The extra space will allow for a dual bar light system, which is a necessity for the high-resolution Retina Display that the iPad 3 is rumored to gain. Apple, according to the report, is also expected to launch a sixth-generation iPhone in the summer of 2012 with a 4-inch display and metal casing. It is noted that this phone will likely be LTE-ready with improved battery life. Lastly, it is suggested that 2012 will be the year that Apple redesigns the MacBook Pro with thinness in mind
