Spray Your iPhone with NeverWet and It’ll Be Waterproof Forever

Wouldn’t it be nice to take a swim with your iPhone on the pool deck? Yes, that does sound ridiculous, but it’s possible with Sharp Innovation‘s “NeverWet.” The product has a “superhydrophobic” coating that’s supposed to repel any syrups and liquids that would otherwise harm the phone or cause an extreme annoyance to the user. Substances such as these slide off like water, according to Wired’s Gadget Lab. And speaking of water, it’s completely harmless when NeverWet has been applied. The coating is currently under the testing phase, but it could be available commercially next year so stay tuned.
